A common theme amongst each hero is that he/she fight their own battle of demons internal and external.

Percy Jackson : He undergoes significant growth, transitioning from a brave yet impulsive hero to a mature leader. Throughout the series, Percy grapples with insecurities about his role in the prophecy and his relationship with Annabeth. With Jupiter as his father and the prophecy hinting at the doom of storm or fire he masters his abilities and overcomes his injuries. Piper McLean: As the saying goes “Pen is mightier than the sword” similarly Piper is endowed with the power of persuasion, a once in a generation power. However Piper struggles to find her place among her fellow demigods, fearing that she will never measure up to their impressive abilities. Piper emerges as a fierce and formidable warrior. Her journey is one of empowerment and self-acceptance, as she learns to trust in herself and her abilities, proving that the true heroism lies not only in power, but in courage, determination and in her case – charmspeak..

Frank Zhang: Descendant of the Agronaut – Periclymenus, Frank is often compared to his overachieving ancestors. It does not help that his life can be controlled by a piece of firewood.  

From a bulky self conscious kid to the Praetor of Camp Jupiter, Frank has come a long way.With his shape shifting powers and his rich ancestry, he is able to guide and help the other heroes. His journey is one of self-discovery and redemption, as he confronts his fears and embraces his destiny with courage and determination.

Hazel Levesque: Haunted by her past life and burdened by its guilt, Hazel struggles to come to terms with her identity as a daughter of Pluto and the legacy of her family’s actions. A seemingly frightened girl, with the help of Percy and Frank, she learns her abilities and gets rid of the curse. Soon she masters the use of magic from the goddess Hecate and Hazel discovers her own inner strength and resilience, emerging as a true hero in her own right. 

Leo Valdez: With a penchant for mischief and a talent for invention, Leo brings a sense of humor and creativity to the group of heroes. Yet, beneath his jovial exterior lies a deep-seated fear of abandonment and a desire to prove his worth. Leo masters the art of craftsmanship and crafts the great ship – “The Argo 2”. His powers develop tenfold as he learns the use of fire and he ultimately plays a major role in the defeat of Gaia. Throughout the series Leo is a seventh wheel – as said by Hecate- but manages to find his true love at the end. Leo’s journey is marked by his blooming self confidence, courage and power. 

Nico di Angelo: Haunted by the loss of his sister and grappling with his feelings of isolation, Nico struggles to find acceptance and belonging among his fellow demigods. From Camp Half-Blood to Camp Jupiter, Nico becomes the first hero to know the existence of both camps. Before the battle at Camp Jupiter- marked by the fall of Polybotes, Nico undertakes the arduous journey of traveling through the demon pit- Tartarus. His ultimate test was to transport the statue of Athena back home. Through these trials, Nico emerges strong and steadfast and finds his group of companions. His journey is one of self-acceptance, as he learns to forgive himself and embrace his role in the greater fight.

Reyna Ramirez-Arellano: As a daughter of Bellona and a leader of Camp Jupiter, Reyna embodies strength, discipline, and resilience. Throughout the series, Reyna grapples with the burdens of leadership and the challenges of maintaining peace between the Greek and Roman demigods. Despite being labeled a traitor of the Romans, Reyna believes in what is correct and plays a key part in uniting the Gods- Greek and Roman. Yet, despite the trials she faces, Reyna remains steadfast in her commitment to her friends and her duty- The Legion.  Her journey is one of sacrifice and selflessness, as she learns to put the needs of others above her own and embrace her destiny with courage and determination.

Octavian: From the Augur to the Praetor, Octavian rises in the ranks through his witty and clever words. His rise is also marked by his fall to the whispers in his head. A steadfast Roman in the heart, Octavian exiles Reyna for her travels to the ancient lands and usurpers her place. Playing into the hands of Gaia, the Romans and Greeks almost fight each other due to Octavian. Ultimately, Octavian dies as he hurls himself onto a canon . Octavian is a unique character who is highly insecure and weak minded.
